My blogs try to counter the misinformation that I see spreading around Facebook groups about Costa Rica as well as the internet, in general.

This is one of the big reasons I wrote my book, Moving to Costa Rica Simplified (grab your copy here).ย

How did I celebrate my 50th birthday?

Well, not how I thought I would.

I moved.

Asรญ es la vida (such is life).โ€ฆ I trust and believe wildheartedly that this move is a step towards healing my broken body, fostering a deeper sense of community, and stepping into a new phase of life.

For those wondering…. in a lot of places around the country, you won’t find typical “moving trucks”. So you learn to… Do what you can with what you have.

One of my many mantras since moving here 12 ยฝ years ago.

When I moved to Costa Rica with just 10 bags and my 17-year-old cat, I thought I was starting fresh… but over the years, Iโ€™ve accumulated quite a bit.

I swear I’m a minimalist at heart, but my cats keep insisting we need 18 cozy blankets, a jungle gym in every room, and more cat beds than I have chairs. ๐Ÿ˜‰
